If you think this pop star’s life is full of glitz and glamor, you are wrong. Lady Gaga came out of the terrible clutches of depression a few years and hasn’t stopped since then. She built a foundation, Born This Way, in 2012 which helps people suffering from mental illnesses.
2. Selena Gomez
Late in 2016, Selena Gomez checked herself into a rehab center because of her battle with depression. She underwent treatment and therapy away from the spotlight and came out fresh as ever. She’s never been better and talked gloriously about her struggles at the recent AMAs.
3. JK Rowling
The gorgeous JK Rowling wasn’t always as famous and successful. In her 20s, she lived in Britain and had just started working on her amazing Harry Potter series. She couldn’t find publishers and was extremely broke. JK Rowling has never kept her struggle with depression a secret. She talks about it out in the open and wants more and more people to find the courage to face their mental health issues.
4. Demi Lovato
The wonderful singer made headlines when she checked into a rehab center for depression and other disorders. She had started to indulge in self-harm behaviors and had to bring it to a stop. With the help of therapy and her closed ones, she’s better as ever now.
5. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson
Before The Rock was a hunky wrestler, he had to go through some career obstacles. In his 20s, Dwayne was trying to make it as a footballer but didn’t get into NFL. His career was at an all-time low and he was living in his parents’ basement. He mentioned that his struggle went on for a few months until he started training as a wrestler.

In the late 90s, Ellen came out as gay for the first time. Due to the stigma attached to LGBT community then, her show was canceled and she was doing terribly career-wise. She had to struggle a lot for a while until she got the role of Dory in Finding Nemo. Ellen never lost hope and kept striving to become successful.

Gwyneth was an amazing mom to her daughter Apple, but something was different after she gave birth to her son, Moses. Her husband found out that she was suffering from post-partum depression when she wasn’t responsive and started feeling numb to her feelings. 2011 wasn’t a very good year for this talented actress. She was suffering from bipolar disorder and her depressive episodes went out of control. She had to sort to medication and therapy. Since then, she’s been recuperating with ease.

Owen Wilson is known to be pretty calm, but he’s dealt with his share of troubles. He tried to commit suicide in 2007 after going through a major depressive episode. He sort of therapy and medication. A few months later, he was back in perfect shape.

The royal Princess suffered from post-partum depression after she gave birth to Prince William. She faced the bad side of being in a royal family where nobody discussed mental disorders of mental health problems.
