So Why should you watch in this order?
Connecting with Character of Han
‘Tokyo Drift’ was the third movie as per the release. In which Han dies in an accident. In the next movie of the series, ‘Fast & Furious”, Han is shown alive. This left many viewers confused. In ‘Fast & Furious 6” which came after “Fast and Furious”, Han says that he is going to Tokyo. Which means that “Tokyo Drift” takes place after “Fast & Furious 6”.

This was also supported by the story credits of “Fast and Furious 6” which ended the story with Deckard Shaw heading to Tokyo to get hold of Han. And in Tokyo Drift, Shaw was responsible for the accident that killed Han.
Appearance of Dom
Vin Diesel Aka Dom shows up at the end of Tokyo Drift after Han’s death. The continuation of this is shown in “Furious 7” where Dom gets back the necklace from Sean in “Furious 7”.
If you missed the “Fast Shorts”
There are two official Fast Shorts you should be adding to your folder. One of then was directed by Vin Diesel and the other one is a prequel to the whole series.
The Turbo Charged Prelude to Fast and Furious
This one goes into the list right before “2 Fast 2 furious”. It gives an intro to how Brian O’Connor reaches Miami and how his life was before the second film. It has no dialogues but will give the exact source of the Nissan Skyline.

This one was directed by Vin Diesel and comes before the fourth movie” Fast and Furious”. It’s a 20 minute short segment which shows Dom and Han and points that the movie is from the fast. Leo gets out from the prison and joins the team. The movie short ends with Dom and his special time with Letty.

Better Luck Tomorrow
Not over yet, there is also another unofficial prequel which you may want to add to the list if you are true fan of the series. “Better Luck Tomorrow” is the story of Han in his school years and it was a trick to keep the anthology.
