The world is changing and what are we doing to stop the degrading environment around us? You must be saying that the plants are still growing, government is working on different environment programmes, forests are still at their places but where are we contributing to it? These environment friendly daily practices might not make a huge difference but definitely, give a satisfaction that somewhere we are participating in saving the environment.
1. REDUCE THE USAGE OF PRIVATE VEHICLES
Always try to opt for public transport, it is convenient and since cars contribute a lot to greenhouse gas emission this is a way to reduce it. Carpooling is also an easy method to reduce the usage of private vehicles. In this scorching summer I won’t suggest cycling but in a favourable weather, this could be our first preference.
2. USE THE LEFTOVERS
Let’s use the leftovers of vegetables, or kitchen materials by making something out of them, either try to invent a new dish or a decorator.
3. JOIN A COMMUNITY
There are various communities working for our environment in some or the other way. Join a community or an NGO, organize some events, and lead a fundraiser event, aware people about the environment.
4. REUSE THE USED ONE
Instead of throwing plastic bags, use them again. It also helps in managing our waste and effectively use at its best.
5. ENERGY-EFFICIENT BULBS
Every day a new technology is turning up, and we should use it save our environment. For starters, an energy-efficient bulb not only reduces the electricity bills but also helps in the effective use of power.
6. REPLACING AIR FILTERS
It’s important to timely replace air filters of cars, ACs, doing this increases fuel efficiency and engine life.
7. MEAT FREE MONDAYS
This campaign encourages avoiding meat on Mondays so as to keep a balance in the environment and hence we all should actively support it.
This habits no matter how small they are somewhere contributes in saving our environment and it’s our job to implement them.
