Acne or pimples occur on the skin, especially on the face, due to inflamed or infected sebaceous glands and prevalent among adolescents. It occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. There are a lot of lotions and medicines available in the market to treat acne but they can take time and can have other harmful side effects as well. Here are some home remedies to remove acne:
Wrap ice in a piece of cloth and put it on the affected skin area for a few seconds. Then after few minutes, apply ice again. Since ice can quickly reduce redness, swelling, and inflammation of pimples, it’s really effective for immediate relief. It also helps in improving blood circulation to the affected area and tightening the skin pore and removing dirt and oil accumulated in that area.
Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, it helps in acne to dry up faster. Dip a cotton swab in lemon juice and apply it to the affected skin area. Also, mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with the lemon juice and put it on the pimple overnight. Wash the skin with lukewarm water next morning. This would be really effective for those with sensitive skin.
Use of vinegar helps in the killing of bacteria, removing oil and other skin impurities. It protects the acid mantle of the skin. Mix the vinegar and water in the proportion of 1:3 and apply it to affected area of skin.
Take a little white toothpaste on your finger and apply it on your pimple. Leave it on for a few hours and then wash it off. There will be a significant improvement in swelling. Repeat this once daily for a few weeks.
It’s an antiviral, antifungal, antiseptic and antioxidant agent that help in the fast treatment of pimples. Cut a clove of garlic into two pieces. Rub the garlic on the pimples ad leave it for five minutes, then wash it with lukewarm water. Repeat this twice a day. Garlic can be eaten raw which helps in purifying the blood.
It’s a natural antibiotic which speeds up the healing and also prevents infections. Dip a cotton swab in honey and use it directly on the affected area and leave it for an hour. Then wash the skin with lukewarm water and repeat this few times a day. Also, you can add cinnamon powder to honey and make a paste and apply it before going to bed. Next morning, there will be less inflammation and swelling.
It’s a good source of vitamin A and has enzymes that help reduce inflammation and make the skin soft and smooth. Crush raw papaya pieces and extract its juice and apply it over the skin. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse it off. To make a mask, add some honey to it and apply the paste all over the face. Leave until it completely dries and then rinses it off.
