With the spectacular finale of Game of Thrones Season 6, expectations from the next season of Game of Thrones are even higher. Here are all the things you need to know about GOT season 7 :
1. Release date
The show is expected to be released on 28th May of next year. This is a marked delay from the usual April airing dates. The major reason for this is that Winter has come in the show. Since GoT is shot in real locales, so they have to wait for winter to actually come. This means that the production will be pushed back a bit.
2. Number of episodes
Game of Thrones season 7 is said to be the initiation of the closing act of the show. This means that the number of episodes will be 7 instead of the customary 10 so far.
Game of Thrones is going to be shot in some really chilly places. This is due to the arrival of winter on the show. The winter in Westros is harsh and long so it is ideal that they are shooting in Northern Ireland as well as Iceland for the winter scenes. Other locations include Seville in Spain, Caecers etc.
While not much is actually known about the plot, it hasn’t stopped people from speculating. As per speculations, Sansa Stark may begin her reign over Winterfell. There are chances of an all out conflict with Cersei and the White Walkers. Also, Danaerys may hit Dorne on her way to Westeros. The ladies are expected to be on fire next season.
All of the original cast from the previous cast is expected to be back. The only person shrouded in doubt is actress Carice van Houton who portrays Mellisandre. She is currently pregnant so expecting her to be back in time for shooting is a bit of a stretch. Also, Jason Mamoa may be back as talks of resurrecting his character of Khal Drogo intensify.
