1.The floating Post-Office:


India has the largest postal network in the world, with 1,55,015  post offices all over the country. Even there is a post office which very smoothly floats on the Dal Lake. It was inaugurated in August 2011.

2.Kumbh Mela 2011


India has great traditions and the people here live their religions and faiths. One exemplary show of this is the Kumbh Mela. As per the records in 2011 the Kumbh Mela witnessed 75 million pilgrims, who made the huge crowd visible from space.

3.The Wettest yet Inhabited Place in the World


Mawsynram is a village in Khasi Hills Meghalaya which receives the highest recorded average rainfall in the world. People are happily living over there.

4.Bandra Worli Sea Link:


The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is made of steel wire equal to the circumference of the Earth. Not only this, it took 2,57,00,000 man hours to complete this exceptional piece of craftsmanship and architecture which weighs around 50,000 African elephants.

5.The Highest Cricket Ground in the World:


The Chail Cricket Ground in Chail, Himachal Pradesh is recorded to be the highest cricket ground in the whole world located at an altitude of 2,444 meters.

6.We Invented Shampoo:


It was us Indian who gave the world the amazing liquid shampoo. It loans it name to a Sanskrit word “CHAMPU” which means massage.

7.We Claimed; There is Water on the Moon:


The Chandryayaan -1, on September 2009 detected the water on the moon for the first time using its Moon Mineralogy Mapper.

8.Switzerland celebrates Science Day; dedicated to Former President Mr. APJ Abdul Kalaam:


The Missile Man of India visited Switzerland on May 26th, 2006, since then the day is celebrated as Science Day in Switzerland.

9.The First Rocket in India was Transported in a “Bicycle”:


The first developed rocket in India was so light and compact that it was transported on a cycle to the Thumba Launching Station in Thiruvananthapuram.

India is the second largest country in the world with English speaking natives.

11.The Human Calculator:


This was the name given to Shakuntala Devi, who answered the correct multiplication of two 13 digit numbers; 7,686,369,774,870 × 2,465,099,745,779 picked randomly. She did it in 28 seconds.

12.Saare Jahan Se Achaa:


The former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, asked the first Indian astronaut in space, Rakesh Sharma, how India looked from space? His answer was “Saare Jahan Se Achaa”.
