The interesting factor is that for men it is not that easy to obtain royalty unless married to a female sovereign and there has been no American ever who has done so.

She was the daughter of a rich merchant and riches were not new to her. Due to pressures from Napoleon, Jerome stayed away and married a German princess, but their wedding was never dissolved.

Lisa Halaby, known as Queen Noor of Jordan stayed with the King till he died in 1999 succumbing to lymphoma. She was working in Royal Jordanian Airlines when she met King Hussein of Jordan. The two quickly became friends and got married in 1978. She has four children and takes active participation in the politics of the country.

She attained the title of the queen on May 27, 1949. This was the first time that an American actress became a princess. They have a daughter, Yasmin Ag Khan. But it didn’t actually work for Rita and they divorced in 1953.
